Pastor Search

We are a small Baptist Church in need of a pastor. We are seeking a pastor to lead our congregation into its next season of spiritual growth and community impact. The pastor must live out the values and teaching of Jesus Christ. He should demonstrate a pastoral heart that feeds, guides, and loves the congregation.

Reports to: Board of Deacons

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy family life.
  • Has a personal spiritual life congruent with the biblical mandates for leaders found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
  • Pastor should be called by God, spiritually mature, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. 
  • Called to ministry and has a passion for outreach, both personally and at a ministry level.
  • Exhibits strong, visionary, and servant leadership.
  • Knowledge of the Bible. Rightly dividing the Word.
  • Making Disciples of Jesus Christ. Always pointing people to Jesus.
  • Has a strong testimony of God’s faithfulness in his life.
  • Has and maintains growing relationships with spouse and family.
  • An example of a believer. He can say, “Follow me as I follow Christ.”
  • Able to counsel from the Bible and not man’s wisdom.
  • We use KJV based translations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, organization, and implementation of all corporate services, prepare and deliver messages and lead the church.
  • Work closely with deacons to provide spiritual direction of the church.
  • Serve as a spiritual resource and advisor to the leaders of church ministries and committees.
  • Coordinate the process of membership, termination of membership, and church discipline.
  • Coordinate member meetings and the annual meeting.
  • Provide specialized pastoral care when appropriate (funerals, weddings, hospital visits, etc.)
  • Provide individual counseling from scripture to as needed.
  • Support, encourage, uplift, visit, and help those in our church and the community.
  • Salary is $52,000 per year. 2 weeks vacation per year. No other benefits.
  • Pastor may need to be bi-vocational.
